A new season with new opportunities for Vegter Pro Mod Racing
In just over a week, the FIA European Drag Racing Championship will kick off again with The Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway. For David Vegter and Vegter Pro Mod Racing, this most important drag racing championship in Europe remains their main goal for 2026. Additionally, the Dutch top team will compete in the FuelTech Motorsport UK British Drag Racing Championship. But the first test of the new season is scheduled for this coming weekend with The Doorslammers. In short, a packed calendar with many opportunities for success once again. After a season in which David Vegter, with the Vegter Pro Mod Racing ‘67 Camaro, was once again among the quickest and fastest combinations in the FIA European Pro Modified Championship, many hours have been spent in the team's workshop over the past few months to ensure they can play a leading role in this title fight again this year. Pro Dutch Racing take the next step in title hunt
It’s the month of May, and for Pro Dutch Racing, that means the start of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship. After a successful first full season for Michel Tooren and his team with the Pro Dutch Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the next step is now being taken. As of this season, there is a new engine under the hood of the Camaro, which is not only lighter, but also more powerful. The main programme for the ambitious team is once again the FIA European Pro Modified Championship, while Pro Dutch Racing will also compete in the remaining rounds of the FuelTech Motorsport UK British Drag Racing Championship. The first full season with the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 yielded several great results for Pro Dutch Racing. Last year, Michel Tooren finished in fourth place in the final standings of the FIA European Pro Modified Championship, secured the second position in the Motorsport UK Pro Modified Championship, and reset his personal best three times, bringing it down to 5.8089 seconds.

Timo Habermann back in the FIA European Top Methanol Championship
Timo Habermann’s long-awaited comeback finally becomes reality. After a 6-year break, the 3-time FIA European Top Methanol champion from Germany will be back in action at The Main Event, round one of the FIA European Drag Racing Championship at Santa Pod Raceway. And although being out of competition for so many years, one thing is for sure, the Werner Haberman Racing driver will immediately be a force to be reckoned with. There was a time that the two Werner Habermann Racing drivers, brothers Timo and Dennis Habermann, were the men to beat in the FIA European Top Methanol (Dragster) Championship. In 2015 and 2018 the two brothers scored a one-two in the Championship with Dennis claiming the title and Timo finishing in second position. Timo claimed the FIA European title in 2009, 2010 and 2017! But after taking part in only one round in 2019, the corona pandemic caused a longer break, extended by business and family that took all their attention. But the Werner Habermann Racing team st

Lars Sjӧholm takes the next step, the FIA European Championship
Lars Sjӧholm stepped up to Pro Modified last season with the intention of running the FIA European Pro Modified Championship in 2026. What was planned to be a year to figure out all the secrets of Pro Modified, finished with the title in the EDRS Bilsport Pro Modified Series. Now it’s time to turn the original plan into reality and enter the full 2026 FIA European Pro Modified Championship tour, except one race, but that is for the best possible reason a couple can have. Lars Sjӧholm, from Sundsvall in Sweden, started drag racing in 2007, and except a 4-year break caused by business commitments, he took the traditional route from Street, Pro Street to Top Doorslammer, to claim the title in that class in the 2024 Summit Racing EDRS Series. The new challenge for Sjӧholm and his team LSR Motorsport was Pro Modified and to make that dream come true they acquired the Michael Gullqvist Camaro. A new class but also a new engine concept because after years with nitrous engines in Top Doorslamm
